The Tensor Foundation has provided funding for the MAA to award grants for projects designed to encourage college and university women or high school and middle school girls to study mathematics. The MAA, on behalf of the Tensor Foundation, is soliciting college, university, and secondary mathematics faculty (in conjunction with college or university faculty) and their departments and institutions to submit proposals. Projects may replicate existing successful projects, adapt components of such projects, or be innovative. MAA Tensor Program Outreach Director Florence Fasanelli specifically mentioned that this would be appropriate for AWM Student Chapters and encouraged anyone interested to contact her by email ffasanelli (appropriate punctuation) verizon (appropriate punctuation) net for consultation about applying for the grant.

The AWM awards Mathematics Travel Grants to provide full or partial support for travel and subsistence for a meeting or conference in the applicant's field of specialization. The grant amount is up to $2,300 for domestic travel and up to $3,500 for foreign travel.
Applicants must be women holding a doctorate (or equivalent) and with a work address in the USA (or home address, in the case of unemployed applicants). Anyone who has been awarded an AWM-NSF travel grant in the past two years is ineligible. Anyone receiving more than $2000 yearly in external governmental funding for travel is ineligible. Partial travel support from the applicant's institution or from a non-governmental agency does not, however, make the applicant ineligible.
